🗞 Straight from Google I/O 2024
At Google I/O 2024, Google unveiled several exciting updates. They introduced Firebase Genkit for building AI apps and showcased AI-generated quizzes on YouTube.
The new Gemma 2 model is set to launch in June, and real-time scam detection for Android was announced.
Google Photos will have an AI search feature, and Gemini AI is expanding across Gmail and Maps.
They also revealed next-gen Tensor Processing Units, new AI search features, the Project IDX development environment, and unveiled the Pixel 8a and Pixel Tablet.
Fun fact: During the 110-minute Google I/O 2024 presentation, AI was mentioned 121 times, with CEO Sundar Pichai humorously noting the company's efforts in counting these references.

OpenAI announced GPT-4o, a new AI model trained on text, vision, and audio, making ChatGPT capable of real-time interactions, understanding emotions, and generating appropriate responses.
It’s twice as fast and 50% cheaper than GPT-4 Turbo, offering enhanced performance.
Free ChatGPT users now have access to features like web browsing, code interpreter, file uploads, and memories. Additionally, ChatGPT is launching a desktop app for Mac, with Windows to follow.
